Tech Mahindra to digitally enable supply chain applications leveraging its ecosystem of suppliers, customers, partners, and associates
Tech Mahindra Ltd., a leading provider of digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering services and solutions, today announced its support to #OxygenForIndia, a volunteer-run organization put together by the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP), to deploy 3,000 oxygen concentrators and 40,000 oxygen cylinders to help resolve the oxygen crisis in India. The partnership will strive to ensure that life-saving medical oxygen is delivered to critical patients quarantined at home to limit the need for hospitalization.
#OxygenForIndia is a campaign aimed at delivering oxygen cylinders to those in need, and especially those who may have difficulty in being admitted to a hospital due to financial constraints. As part of the partnership, Tech Mahindra will provide its leading technological and functional expertise to digitally support the campaign by enabling their supply chain applications and streamlining operations with RFD ID (Radio-frequency identification) tracking. Additionally, the partnership will also utilise the operational capabilities of Mahindra Logistics and leverage the Mahindra ecosystem of suppliers, customers, partners, and associates for funding to aid the campaign.

By associating with OxygenForIndia we will ensure oxygen availability to patients at home without the need for admission, thereby freeing hospital beds for those in critical condition. The collaboration will also add additional Oxygen capacity to hospitals for patients in need.”
#OxygenForIndia will raise $10 Million to begin with - with contributions coming from Tech Mahindra, industry and various citizen bodies. This movement will support creation of oxygen capacity across 15 cities and tier 2 towns, thereby benefitting lakhs of COVID-19 patients and reducing the stress on the India’s hospital eco-system which is under tremendous pressure due to oxygen unavailability
Dr. Ramanan Laxminarayan, Founder and Director of the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy, a Health Think-Tank, said, “Oxygen for India is delighted to be partnering with Tech Mahindra. About OxygenforIndia
The COVID-19 pandemic is raging in India and people are dying for the sheer lack of medical oxygen. The supply of which is available, but for which transportation and distribution is the main challenge. There are currently a few organized non-profit operations to get medical oxygen to hospitals and patients at home. In response, Ramanan Laxminarayan, Founder and Director of the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP), put out a call to his network and OxygenForIndia was born.
The organization is a collective of medical and public health professionals, volunteers, and concerned citizens around the world. This initiative would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers. Our special thanks to The Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) and HealthCube, for being the backbone of this initiative by providing their invaluable public health expertise and leadership.
