Vineet is General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer at Tech Mahindra and leads the legal & regulatory functions of the group. He has rich professional experience of over two and half decades in Legal, Secretarial, Regulatory, Risk & Compliance, Corporate & Public Affairs, in leading Information Technology, ITeS, Engineering, Infrastructure, Banking & NBFC companies.  

Before joining Tech Mahindra, he served as Senior Vice President & Head - Legal, Commercial, Regulatory, Compliance & Public Affairs at HCL Technologies for 11 years.  Earlier, Vineet has worked in Legal, Regulatory & Secretarial roles with TATA Group - TATA Unisys, TATA Infotech and TATA Consultancy Services for 10 years, besides handling Legal, Secretarial & Compliance functions in Punj Lloyd group and American Express India. He has also been a litigator & practicing advocate before Hon’ble Supreme Court and High Courts.  

His expertise spans across practice areas, including Civil & Criminal laws, Commercial & Contract laws, IT, Data Protection, Privacy, Cyber & IPR laws, M&A, Telecom, Litigation & Arbitration, International Laws, Global Compliances, Employment laws, FCPA, UKBA, Real Estate, Indirect Taxation, SEZ/STPI/EOU regulations.  

Vineet is a Law graduate from Delhi University, B.Com. (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce with additional qualifications in Company Law, Labour Laws, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, IT & Cyber Laws.

Vineet is well respected in the industry for his efforts in policy advocacy and multilayer government engagements for effecting changes in Telecom, TRAI, IPR, Labour, IT/ITES and Industrial policies for Federal and State Govts. He is part of key committees of NASSCOM, FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, INTA, and INBA and is on the Board of Studies and Advisory Boards of leading Law Schools. 

He has bagged several recognitions including ASSOCHAM’s Bharat GC Doyen 2024 & National Legal Excellence 2023; Legal500 GC PowerList 2023; Forbes PowerList and BusinessWorld Top India GC for Years 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023; and GC of the Year from India Business Law Journal, Legal Era Magazine, IDEX Legal and Indian National Bar Association.
